Fares Abu Dhabi Programme – برنامج فارس أبوظبي

The Abu Dhabi Sports Council, partnering with the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club “Fares Abu Dhabi Programme” which is an initiative aims to connect younger generations with the UAE’s rich heritage through traditional sports like equestrian .
Goals:
- Educate young people about the importance of national heritage and traditional sports.
- Instill the values and skills passed down from previous generations.
- Support the development of personal abilities through sports participation.
Project Structure:
- Target Audience: School students.
- Training: Supervised by experienced trainers, the program offers:
- Educational sessions on equestrianism and polo history, rules, and techniques.
- Practical training sessions for students interested in further pursuing these sports.
- Phases:
- Phase 1 (May & July): School tours introducing the program and highlighting the benefits of horse riding.
- Phase 2 (October onwards): Practical training sessions at the club for interested students.
Significance:
Fares Abu Dhabi reflects the government’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage and fostering social connections. By engaging youth in traditional sports, the project promotes personal growth, historical awareness, and a deeper appreciation for the UAE’s cultural identity.
Rules :
- Age of students must be from 12 to 18 years
- Approval of the guardian to join the Fares Abu Dhabi program.
- Regular attendance, wear sports uniforms and safety requirements.
- Adherence to the trainer’s instructions and the rules of conduct and discipline.
- In the event of repeated absence for more than 3 training courses without excuse, the student is considered suspended from the program.
- Students are transported to and from the club by their guardian or school.
