Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Falah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Ghantoot Racing &Polo Club,the club will hold on Saturday (November 29th)an exhibition polo match to celebratethe 43rdUAE National Day occasion.
The Club is currently preparing several activities, that will held on the sidelines of the exhibition game, to attract public attendance to join the annual celebration, with various activites and show support to the wonderful polo.
Formerexhibition champion Ghantoot Team will play against its opponent UAE polo team as they will both play the game in Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club grounds offering an exciting game.
Ghantoot Polo Team players are Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Yousif Bin Desmal, Fahad Al Qubaisi, and Ramiro Zavaleta. On the other sideUAE Polo Team includes Faris Al Yabhouni, Mohammed Bin Drai, Saeed Bin Drai, and Tomas Iriarte.
The exhibition polo matchis sponsored by several institutions and companies to ensure a successful event, particularly byIPIC SF, Tadweer – The Center of Waste Management – Abu Dhabi, Ghars Zayed Volunteering Group, and Egoist Beauty and Spa.
The 43rd National Day celebrations witnessed the dominance of Ghantoot polo team after defeating rivals Abu Dhabi Sports Council team by 3-2, as Nasser Al Dhaherisnatched the ball after a long 2-2 tie and scored the winning golden goal in the decisive fifth overtime round.
The event has witnessed the display of the largest flag ever made in the UAE, measuring 2500m long and 6m wide, the flag was designed by the Emirati young man Abdullah Al Hosani with the assistance of SanidProgramme and Zayed Implant Voluntary Group.
The flag was nominated to enter the Guinness World Records, and required around 14,700 meters of cloth in the making. It was displayed for nearly3 hours at the main stadium with the participation of around 500 people, all under the supervision Mr. Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Managing Director of Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club.
The ceremony witnessed a military folk art and offered traditional cuisine to the crowds whom enjoyed various events associated with this massive sports festival, as a host of prizes and gifts was distributed to the attendees.
