Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club held at Tuesday morning the official press conference at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr - Abu Dhabi - with the attendance of HE Saeed Bin Hoofan; Ahmed Al Nuaimi; Dr Majdi Abdel Hadi; Ade I Garrick; Lina Hursi & Marketing representative from Ghantoot to announce the ADCB Pink Polo Championship 5th anniversary details; which is organized by Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club on the coming Friday, November 7th, 2014
Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Falah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, chairman of Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club; the event is supported by Abu Dhabi Health Authority (HAAD); Abu Dhabi Sports Council; and with the title sponsor Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) and Premier Motors; with the official car Maserati; as well as other sponsors Etihad Airways, Zahrt Al Khaleej, ANASTASIA Africa, LLH Hospital; Clinica Joelle; Fairmont Bab Al Bahr Hotel and other parties with the aim of creating awareness on breast cancer.
Access to the event is free for the public and organizers said it would also include several amusement activities for children besides health awareness programs.
The vice chairman of Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club HE Saeed Bin Houfan Al Mansouri praised HH Sheikh Falah for his support of this event to ensure its success.
“Nov 7th will be a day of important humanitarian and social proportions...this event is part of the UAE’s keenness to create awareness about breast cancer to help in its treatment,” he said.
Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club Managing Director Mr. Ahmed Al Nuaimi also praised HH Sheikh Falah for patronizing the event and said the club would be open for all during the games.
He said the event would also include programs to explain more about the breast cancer and the need for early detection and treatment.
HAAD declared that the event constitutes a significant message from the authority and its role in the UAE health sector, adding that at least 1.1 million people are diagnosed for breast cancer every year worldwide.
ADCB said it would organize its own activities during the games in the ADCB pink garden, adding that it has “some surprises” for the public.
The ADCB Pink Polo; Polo Exhibition Game: Sponsored by ADCB and organized by Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club in collaboration with HAAD & Abu Dhabi Sports Council; with the primary goal of creating awareness among women and families about the dangers of breast cancer and means of protection as well as creating awareness about the disease. The fifth Exhibition Polo Game will open at the club on Nov 7 at 2:00 PM; Polo Exhibition Game starts at 6:00 PM.
Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club: The club was established in 1997 as a royal private venture. The idea was proposed by late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and is now run by his son HE Sheikh Falah. It is equipped with the latest sport and recreational facilities and is around 45 minutes from Abu Dhabi city.
